Overview
AMPYR Australia is seeking a recently qualified, commercially curious Financial Accountant to join our Sydney-based finance team during one of the most exciting periods in the company’s growth. With our first utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) due to energise in September 2026 and a rapidly expanding pipeline of utility and distributed BESS projects moving through development, construction and operations, the finance function is scaling at pace to support the energy transition.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this is a hands-on role that will work across the breadth of our business — supporting transaction execution, the build-out of operational reporting frameworks for our growing asset base, and the uplift of finance systems and processes that underpin a multi-entity platform. You will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager and the broader finance team, project and operations teams, and external advisors, with regular exposure to senior leadership including the Chief Financial Officer.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant looking to broaden their commercial experience in renewable energy infrastructure, work across multiple asset classes and corporate transactions, and build skills that are highly transferable as the global energy transition accelerates. The role is offered on a fixed-term contract basis with the potential to transition into a permanent operational finance position, subject to business needs and performance.
The role is based at AMPYR’s Sydney CBD office, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements available.
Our Company
AGP Sustainable Real Assets (AGP) is a global asset management group, investing in, developing and operating sustainable infrastructure. AGP focuses on deploying capital into platforms, businesses and assets focused around three investment themes:
- Renewable Energy
- Sustainable Communities & Infrastructure
- Natural Capital
Each AGP platform, business and asset is measured and monitored against the positive contribution it makes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) and how it contributes to a net zero GHG emissions future. Among its various investment platforms, AGP has established AMPYR Energy (AMPYR), which develops, owns and operates renewable energy assets around the world.
AMPYR Australia:
- Is constructing the 300MW/600MWh Bulabul 1 BESS project along with a rapidly growing pipeline of more than 2,500MW of utility energy storage projects.
- Owns a 23MW portfolio of C&I solar assets across 137 sites and is developing a 300MW portfolio of distributed BESS assets.
AGP is committed to conducting its business consistent with its values and expects team members to be aligned with these values: Innovation, Empowerment, and Integrity. AGP is headquartered in Singapore with operations in Australia, the UK, Europe, the US and India — a rapidly expanding organisation with over 600 employees.

Process and Systems Uplift
- Support the testing and implementation of finance process improvements across procure-to-pay (P2P), project budget reporting and fixed asset accounting.
- Contribute to the design and stand-up of new finance processes for our operating asset base, including supporting documentation, NetSuite configuration and revenue recognition.
- Assist with the migration and ongoing maintenance of fixed asset registers in NetSuite.
- Support data preparation, validation and uploads in connection with new and uplifted finance systems.
Business-as-Usual Finance

- Contribute to the preparation of various financial reports, including for management, lenders, tax and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the development of go-forward external reporting templates ahead of BESS energisation.
- Provide support across general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany processes and month-end close as required.

- Prime Sydney CBD location with hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
- Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience.
- Broad exposure across corporate transactions, operational finance and systems uplift on a rapidly scaling utility and distributed BESS portfolio.
- A supportive, collaborative team culture with strong access to senior leadership and the opportunity to extend the contract or transition into a permanent operational finance role for the right candidate.
